Prelude To Glory: The Decathlon
This pilot episode of a planned TV series was one of hundreds of sports documentaries that were produced in anticipation of the monumental 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles. While much of this wave of "pre-olympic programming" was about current sports news, this documentary explored the sport in detail. It rose to the top of the heap by winning a bronze medal in the Houston Worldfest competing against the largest amount of entries in sports category history. The series would have been great to see on the air, but it was never completed due to a Hollywood murder scandal, a company takeover and broadcast schedules.
